Ten Months and Counting
It has been ten months since spending eight days in silence at an Ignatian retreat. Many have said they'd go nuts not talking that long. As is evidenced by our addiction to spewing whatever's on and in our minds ...to turn off the constant stream might prove itself hard to do. I slipped expectantly into the quiet and felt a deep calm wash over me. I didn't have to say anything to anybody. No need to talk brought no worries about how I was received as everyone else was there for the quiet. Then I began to listen. God talks a lot. It seemed He enjoyed having my undivided attention. I certainly reveled in having His. Our relationship grew with each day and through meeting daily with my spiritual advisor and reading books she suggested as well as working through questions each day combined with Liturgy of the Hours daily Mass and daily Bible reading, I began to see my life differently. I saw the important things more clearly. More later. Peace!

The night before.
Tomorrow I enter an 8 day retreat. There will be no conversation at meals. 8 days of quiet prayer worship and contemplation in the presence of my Jesus. I'm searching for focus. More later...
